Webb City spoiled senior night in Neosho on Monday, as the Lady Cardinals cruised to a 60-35 victory in the Lady Wildcats’ final home game of the season.
The Lady Cardinals took control of the scoreboard early as they jumped out to a 15-5 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. They went on to win ever quarter, in fact, behind a huge performance from standout Mikaela Burgess, who finished with 30 points to lead all scorers.
Desirea Buerge also proved tough to handle as she poured in 16 points for the Lady Cardinals, followed by Kaylee Reynolds with two, Megan Heman three, Lexey Kneib two and Kaitlin Beason seven.
Chelsey Henry led the Lady Wildcats with 10 points, while Morgan Rathmann chipped in eight, Morgan Rogers seven, Brooke Stauffer three, Emily Harrell one, Whitney Wise four and Addi Long two.
The Lady Wildcats (8-16, 0-6 conference) honored their lone senior, Rathmann, before the game on senior night.
Webb City went on to win the “B” game, 48-38. Henry led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 11 points.
Neosho closes out its regular season at 6 p.m. Thursday in Carthage.
