  • In a season that seems to have gone in a flash, the Neosho boys basketball team played their final home game of the season on Tuesday as they fell to the Webb City Cardinals 64-32 on senior night.
In a game that featured 14 3-pointers combined between the two teams, it was the Cardinals knocking down 10 of those shots as they never let off the gas. On the heels of a fast start, they led 21-7 at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Nate Brown drained a pair of key 3-pointers in that quarter to keep the Wildcats at bay.
The Cardinals then hit three more treys in the second quarter and four more in the third as they continued to pull away.
Kohl Slaughter led Webb City with 16 points, while Phoenix Johnson added 13, Brown 10, Clay Gardner eight, Jalen Vaden seven, Alec Bayse five, Trey Parra two and Chase Murray three.
Caden Hendricks and Lukas Werneke each had eight points to lead the Wildcats, while Darrian Guillory finished with six, Brett Williams three, Andy Lett two, Kaden Roy three and Devin Hames two.
Lett, Neosho’s only senior, was recognized before the game along with his parents for senior night.
