  • Offense, defense and pitching, it was all there for the Crowder baseball team on Sunday as the Roughriders went on the road and beat up on Coffeyville Community College, 15-2, in seven innings.

  • Offense, defense and pitching, it was all there for the Crowder baseball team on Sunday as the Roughriders went on the road and beat up on Coffeyville Community College, 15-2, in seven innings.
    The Roughriders took charge early as they plated three runs in the first inning, six more in the second and two in the third to take an 11-0 lead in the third. They would go on to add single runs in the fourth, fifth and two more in the sixth as they pounded out 16 hits.
    Lucas Feddersen led Crowder with four hits, including a double, and scored three runs, while Matt Burgess added three hits, including a double, and drove in five. Tony Sandifer, Ty White and Chris Scroggins each had two hits, while Cody Althouse, Sam May and Ryan Lazo each added a hit in the win.
    Sandifer plated three runs and added four RBI, White scored three times and drove in one with a double, May scored twice and Althouse and Lazo once.
    Jon Woodcock started on the hill for the Roughriders and earned the victory after scattering six hits and allowing two runs (one earned) with seven strikeouts and no walks in five innings. Connor Eller and Cody Jones each tossed a scoreless inning of relief.
    Crowder tagged Coffeyville starter Dustin Hurlbutt for nine earned runs on eight hits in 1.1 innings. Coffeyville used six pitchers in the game.
    The Roughriders (6-1) entertain Labette Community College for two seven-inning games beginning at 2 p.m. Thursday, weather permitting.
