Meda I. Pogue, 89, Neosho, died on Feb. 27, 2013, at Medicalodge in Neosho, following a lengthy illness.
Meda was born Dec. 25, 1923, in Neosho and was a lifelong area resident. She was a homemaker; a member of First Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed family, sewing and doll collecting.
Meda married George ‘Joner’ Pogue, Sr. and he preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1992.
She is survived by her children, George Pogue, Jr. and wife, Kay, Phyllis Wilson and husband, Gary, Danny Pogue; Grover Pogue and wife, Sherry, Chris Houston and husband, Norman, Bill Pogue and Sheila Mayfield and husband, Denny, all of Neosho; 20 grandchildren; 40 great- grandchildren; and anticipating the birth of two great-great-grandchildren later this year.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Joyce Ann Wallace and Loretta Wilson; daughter-in-law, Brenda Pogue; one brother and two sisters.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Frank Webster, minister will officiate. Interment will be in the Gibson Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Justin Houston, Riley Mayfield, Shane Pogue, Ethan Pogue, Tanner Pogue, Scout Pogue, Aaron Patrick and Brian Wilson.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from noon until 7 p.m. today and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
