  • When the 2013-2014 prep basketball season begins the Seneca Lady Indians will have a new coach manning their bench, as longtime coach Bob Coffey is stepping away.
    Coffey confirmed to the Neosho Daily News on Sunday that he resigned his head coaching position with the Lady Indians after six years on the bench.
    Coffey’s Lady Indians finished the 2011-12 season with a 7-20 record, but earned a district victory over Sarcoxie in the first round before falling to eventual champion Mount Vernon.
    This season the Lady Indians closed at 8-18 overall and fell to East Newton in the first round of district play.
