  • Ollie Mae Tanner, 84, Granby, died March 12, 2013, at Granby House nursing home, following a lengthy illness.
    Ollie was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Granby, the daughter of Ed Tootie and Naomi (Brown) Ross and was a lifelong area resident. She was a homemaker and loved being with her family, an avid reader and gardener.
    Ollie and Herschel Tanner were married on June 29, 1946, in Columbus, Kan., and he survives.
    Additional survivors include five children, Phyllis Friend and husband, Larry, Granby, Beverly Bowers and husband, Richard, Neosho, Herschel E. Tanner, Neosho, Sharon Tanner and Larry Nims, Neosho and Debbie Rakes and husband, Steve, Granby; two brothers, Herbert Ross and wife, Hopie, Kansas City, Mo., and Kenny Ross and wife, Barbara, Purdy; one sister, Jeannie Grissom, Miami, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and four great-great-grandchildren.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, James Tanner; three brothers; and a sister.
    Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Granby, Rev. Ralph Walker will officiate. Interment will be in the Granby Memorial Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Shane Powell, Clayton Powell, Jamie Mahurin, Anthony Tanner, Steve Rakes and Joshua Bowers.
    Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby from noon until 7 p.m. today and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
    Contributions in memory of Ollie may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or Granby House, c/o Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 26, Granby, 64844.
    Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Granby.
