James Nelson Pruitt, Fairview, was born on Dec. 2, 1929, in Miami, Okla., to Warner and Crystal Pearl (Davenport) Pruitt.
He left us all on March 13, 2013, at age 83, from a lingering illness. He was an over-the-road truck driver for 41 years and was a loving, caring husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include wife, Margaret; sons, Russell, Waco, Texas, Gary, Cassville, Roger, Carthage, and Todd Keeling, Stark City; daughters, Vicki Brock, Granby, Gail Green, Soperton Ga., Missy Embrey, Fairview, Tammy Vance, Tulsa, Okla.; sisters, Judy Engelson, Anchorage, Alaska, Barbara Morgan, Neosho, and Leona Watkins, Cassville; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Frances, Pearl Marie, and Carol; one brother, Roger; three sons, Sgt. Major James Nelson Pruitt, Jr., Tony Keeling, and Dean Keeling; grandson, Matt Pruitt; and former wife, Virginia.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, March 18, at Clark Funeral Home Granby Chapel Granby; Rev. Darrell Slatten officiating. Interment will be in Dice Cemetery Fairview. There will be no formal visitation. Friends may call 2-4 p.m., Sunday, March 17, at Clark Funeral Home Granby.
