  • WXT sends 34 wrestlers to regionals

  • After a solid past two weeks of wrestling, the Neosho Wildcat Xtreme Team (WXT) youth wrestling team will be well represented when they hit the mats tomorrow at the start of youth regionals in Carthage.

  • After a solid past two weeks of wrestling, the Neosho Wildcat Xtreme Team (WXT) youth wrestling team will be well represented when they hit the mats tomorrow at the start of youth regionals in Carthage.
    WXT will have 34 wrestlers competing in regionals after they all placed in the district meet on Saturday at Neosho High School.
    Results from the district meet are: 8-under — Hayden Crane, first; Jacob Gravener, first; Raymond Hembree, second; Ryken Shallenburger, third; Jeremiah Cobb, fourth; Robert Ball, fifth. 10-under — Skylar Lumpkins, first; Kolton Sanders, first; Zane Cotten, first; Drayke Perry, first; Landon Kivett, second; Cayden Auch, second; Braxton Crane, second; Kale Schrader, second; Marcus Shaeffer, third; Keaton Sanders, fourth. 12-under — Dalton Hembree, first; Trenton Young, first; Braxton Barnes, second; Robert Davis, second; Joseph Armstrong, second; Trevon Letts, second; Mason Ray, third; Zane Persinger, fourth. 14-under — Dakota Bronson, first; Dalton Kivett, first; Sam Townsend, first; Trey Smith, first; Gannon Millard, first; Adrian Hitchcock, first; Dyllon Bates, second; Kyle Sanders, second; Johnny Meyer, second; Joseph Williams, fourth.
    Prior to the district meet, WXT also participated in both the Monett Tournament and the Joplin Open and Joplin Novice Tournaments on March 2-3.
    Results for the Monett Tournament from March 2, were: 6-under — Jonathan Chrisco, second place; Cayden Larsen, second; Bostyn Patterson, second; Joel Walker, third; Will Meyer, fourth. 8-under — Hayden Crane, first; Jeremiah Cobb, second; Raymond Hembree, third; Zak Goff, fourth; 10-under — Cayden Auch, first; Drayke Perry, first; Kolton Sanders, first; Zane Cotten, second; Nate Copeland, third; Landon Kivett, third; Keaton Sanders, third; Braxton Crane, fourth. 12-under — Trenton Young, first; Braxton Barnes, third; Trevon Letts, third; Robert Davis, fourth; Mason Ray, fourth. 14-under — Dakota Bronson, first; Dalton Kivett, first; Trey Smith, first; Gannon Millard, second; Dyllon Bates, fourth.
    Scores from the Joplin Open Tournament on March 2, were: 6-under — Jack Lankford, first; Nicholas Shaeffer, first; Wyatt Friend, third; Blake Quick, third. 10-under — Marcus Shaeffer, first. 12-under — Joe Armstrong, third. Nicholas Shaeffer went on to place fourth in the 6-under category on March 3, while Marcus Shaeffer took first in the 10-under bracket.
    In the Joplin Novice Tournament on March 3, Neosho’s Blake Quick took first and Cayden Larsen second in the 6-under division.
