After raising banners for winning the Region 16 Tournament and District K crown, the Crowder Lady ‘Riders basketball team will be looking for one more banner to raise inside Bob Sneller Gymnasium — National Champions.

That quest begins Monday for the Lady ‘Riders, as they open play in the NJCAA Division 1 National Tournament at Salina Bicentennial Center in Salina, Kan.

The Lady ‘Riders, ranked and seeded No. 15, will take on No. 18 Redlands Community College (El Reno, Okla.), the District B champions, at 6:30 p.m.

A single elimination tournament, a victory means the Lady ‘Riders would advance to play on Wednesday, March 20, at 1 p.m. versus the No. 2 seed, Central Arizona College (Coolidge, Ariz.), the District A champs.

Crowder (28-5) reached the National Tournament after winning the District K championship on Saturday with a 75-70 victory over Northeast (Neb.) Community College. This is the first trip to the National Tournament for the Lady ‘Riders under head coach Tina Robbins.
