As a society, we love to tell our stories and in turn we love hearing a really good one as well.

No matter what the event or time of year, it's the people and the stories of Neosho that make living here so special.
This past weekend was the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Business & Industry Review. Normally I'm not a great booth person. I feel a little hemmed in by the confines of the table and the defined space. I'm much more comfortable out walking around visiting with people. And so it seems were many of the other business representatives. Never before, in the many years of attending and/or working the B&I events have so many people seemed to simply be enjoying themselves.
There was a lot of laughter. A great deal of back-slapping and stories shared. Maybe it was the ice cream cones or the snack mix, the pulled pork sandwiches or the plethora of candy. Like many family reunions and celebrations, there was food and lots of it. Exhibitors and visitors snacked with abandon. The truly fortunate stopped by the Newcomers Club booth and enjoyed a granola sample. The wise then shelled out $10 for a Newcomers Club cookbook and marked page 180, the granola page recipe.
I adore Neosho's traditions. The Business and Industry Review, the Dogwood Tour, even the garage sale weekend are all part of our collective spring storytelling. Think about it. Who doesn't have a great story about their best garage sale find? How many of us love to recount previous dogwood season drives?
