Metrorail opens in DC
In 1776 our founding fathers were fighting for their freedom. They traveled around the colonies by horse and carriage. Washington, DC, did not yet exist.
Two hundred years later Washington, DC, not only existed, but had advanced beyond the horse and carriage. On March 27, 1976, the Metorail opened in Washington, DC, and surrounding areas.
