  • Opal R. Edens, 74, Webb City, entered into rest on March 28, 2013, at Mercy Hospital Joplin, following a lengthy illness.
    She was born Oct. 20, 1938, in Newton County.
    Opal was a lifelong resident of Southwest Missouri and worked at Eagle Picher, Joplin, for more than 30 years. She loved to knit, crochet and spending time with her family.
    Opal married Robert R. Edens in 1975 in Miami, Okla., and he survives.
    She is also survived by her children, Christopher Ledford, Granby, Cheryl Hadley, Seattle, Wash., Pam Baker, Joplin; seven grandchildren; numerous brothers and sisters.
    Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, at Greenwood Cemetery Granby; Rev. Ralph Walker officiating. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. -5 p.m. Monday, at Clark Funeral Home Granby.
    Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Granby.
