The Nixa Lady Eagles had a night they won’t soon want to forget on Tuesday. Unfortunately for the Neosho Lady Wildcats, it came at their disposal as the Lady Eagles blanked them 10-0.

It didn’t take long for the Lady Eagles to establish a stronghold on the game as Paige Townsend found the back of the net in the opening minutes to set off a firestorm. Townsend would go on to add a second goal just before halftime, as did teammates Jordyn Hoskins, Payton DeHart and Shaylynn Thomas.

Like Townsend, Thomas scored twice in the half, her second making it 6-0 at the intermission.

The Lady Eagles would answer with four additional goals in the second half, despite a valiant effort from Lady Wildcats’ keeper Matty Liedtke, who finished with 25 saves. Meanwhile, Josie Gregory pitched the shutout in Nixa’s net.

The Lady Eagles (3-1) also won the B game 3-0.

Neosho (1-3) returns to action today at 4 p.m. at the Ozark Tournament.
