  • The Neosho seventh grade girls’ track team took first place while the boys finished fifth at the McDonald County Relays on Thursday at McDonald County High School.

  • The Neosho seventh grade girls’ track team took first place while the boys finished fifth at the McDonald County Relays on Thursday at McDonald County High School.
    The Lady Wildcats had a pair of champions as Makayla Hayes took first in both the shot put, with a throw of 26’11, and discus at 66’9. Emilee Anderson also placed first in the triple jump with a leap of 26’3.
    Allison Burr also had a solid day for the Lady Wildcats, as she took second in the triple jump (26’1) and third in the long jump (12’4). Laken Schnackenberg took second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.7 seconds, and third in the 75-meter hurdles in 13.7. The girls’ 4x200 relay team of Ashley Talley, Allison Burr, Maddie Rea and Caitlyn Jordan took second with a time of 2:06.
    On the boys’ side, Jarvis Funk took first in the 400-meter dash in 1:03. Johnsper Septey also grabbed first place in the pole vault with a height of 7-foot, while Hayden Wood, James Jennings, Kaleb Larson and Keilan Moore led the 4x200 relay team to second place with a time of 1:56.3.
    The Wildcats are back in action on Monday at Carl Junction.
