The Neosho seventh grade girls’ track and field team took top honors at the Carl Junction track meet on Monday, while the boys also had a solid showing at the event.
The girls were led by Emilee Anderson, who won the 400-meter dash in 1:07 and took third in the triple jump with a distance of 27’3, and Laken Schnackenberg, who took first in the 200 dash in 29.7 and third in the 100 hurdles in 14.4.
Julia Houk took second in the 100-meter dash in 14.7.
The 4x200 relay team of Ashley Talley, Allison Burr, Maddie Rea and Caitlyn Jordan also took first in 2:05. Makayla Hayes finished third in both the shot put (25’8) and discus (58’2). The 4x400 relay team of Lauren Gammons, Jordan, Talley and Anderson took third in 4:57.
On the boys’ side Johnsper Septey finished first in the pole vault with a new Neosho 7th grade record of 8’0. Jarvis Funk, James Jennings, Connor Brooks and Jared Scribner teamed up to take second in the 4x400 relay in 4:25, while Hayden Wood, Jennings, Kaleb Larson and Keilan Moore finished third in the 4x200 in 1:57.
Jarvis Funk was the runner-up in the 400 dash in 1:03, while Hunter Lockwood placed third in the discus (84’7) and Grant Guillory took third in the 100 hurdles (20.6).
The Wildcats are back in action at Willard on Friday.
