  • Mr. Brian R. “Coach” Higgins, 49, of Anderson departed this life suddenly on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
    Brian entered this life on Jan. 1, 1964, in Los Angeles, Calif., to the union of the late James and Betty (Friend) Higgins. He was raised in Neosho and was a 1982 graduate of Neosho High School. He has resided in Anderson for most of his adult life. Brian has worked in operations for the last 29 years at HJE Central Garden and Pet in Neosho. He loved softball and was head coach of Titanium Elite Gold competitive girls’ softball team and was assistant coach with the 16 and under competitive league.
    On March 3, 2007, in Eureka Springs, Ark., he was united in marriage to Paula J. (Knott) Higgins and she survives of the home.
    Additional survivors include two daughters, Tara Higgins and Kelsy Reynolds both of Anderson; three brothers, Mike Higgins of Thayer, Kan., Terry Higgins of the state of California and Jim Higgins of the state of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
    Funeral services for Mr. Higgins are 2 p.m. Monday in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Bro. Shan Cobb officiating.  The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from noon until the time of service in the funeral home chapel.
    In lieu of flowers memorials are being directed to St. Jude’s and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
