  • McDonald County starting pitcher Mark Hull nearly tossed his second no-hitter of the season on Monday, but instead settled for a two-hit shutout with two strikeouts as his Mustangs blasted Cassville 12-0 in five innings.
    While Hull dazzled the Wildcats on the mound, the Mustang bats battered Cassville pitching for 12 runs on 11 hits. Drey Fickle turned in the big blow, however, as he connected on a two-run homer to lead the rout.
    Zack Peck, Cooper Dill and Evan Acuff each had two hits, including a double apiece, in the win. Cooper Underwood, Mason York, Jake Wood, and Trevor Young also had hits. Fickle, Young and Wood had two RBIs apiece, while Underwood, York, and Acuff drove in one.
    Trenton Frazier, Dill, Acuff and Fickle each scored twice, while Peck, York, Wood and Elijah Harrell scored once.
    The Mustangs entertain Carthage at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
