The Neosho golf team finished in seventh place at the Sonic/Carthage High School Invitational Golf Tournament on Monday at the Carthage Municipal Golf Course. Seneca finished in 12th place while McDonald County took 16th.

Republic won the team event with a 334.

Neosho’s Blake Augustine had one of the best tournaments of any individual, finishing second with a 76. Joplin’s Nick Yuhas medaled the event with a tourney low of 71, including a 34 on the back nine. Seneca’s Bradley Jumper finished 10th individually with an 81.

The Wildcats finished 10 strokes behind Republic with a team score of 344. Kyler Snow followed Augustine with an 83, followed by Ryan Kelly 88, Calin Adams 97 and Tyler Clemons 98.

The Indians scored 360 as a team. Jumper’s 81 was followed by Jordan Brownen with an 86, Blake Alford 90, Josh Pickering 103 and Montana Cooper 114.

The Mustangs turned in a combined 451. Tyler Bishop shot a 94 to lead the team, followed by Kade McKee’s 115, Wade West 118, Ty West 124 and David Reed 135.

The Wildcats are back in action with a home match against Diamond at 4 p.m. Thursday at Neosho Golf Course.
