  • Despite dreary conditions, and without their distance runners in tow due to those conditions, the Neosho boys tied for fourth place and the girls brought home ninth at the Jason Pyrah Invitational at Willard High School on Thursday.
The Wildcats took a condensed group of athletes to the event as the temperatures dropped and the conditions were wet. But that didn’t stop them from making the most of their efforts as they medaled a host of individuals (the top eight in each event medaled).
The boys trailed only Nixa 128.5, Webb City 94, and Willard 92 to tie with Strafford with 56 points for fourth in the team standings.
Individual medalists for Neosho’s boys were:
    High jump — 2. Logan Davidson 5’10.
    Pole vault — 4. Cory Butler 11’0. 5. Ryan Rhinehart 10-06.
    Triple jump — 6. Justin McKee 38-07.5.
4x800-meter relay — 6. Neosho (Kris Avendano, Garrison Baker, Niko Russell, Jacob Lett) 9:37.83.
    100 dash — 5. Isaac McMaster 11.74. 7. Chris Goodwin 11.97.
4x200 relay — 2. Neosho (Davin Bentz, Darrian Guillory, McKee, McMaster) 1:35.75.
    4x100 — 3. Neosho (Bentz, Guillory, McKee, McMaster) 45.82.
    200 dash — 4. McMaster 24.23.
The girls, meanwhile, finished in ninth with 37 points.
Medalists for the Neosho girls were:
    High jump — 2. Kylee Hulsey 4’8.
    Long jump — 6. Tiffany Gilford 14’2.
    Triple jump — 6. Hulsey 29’11.75. 7. Gilford 29’6.
    100 hurdles — 3. Gilford 16.69. 4. Sydnie Lowe 16.69.
4x200 relay — 4. Neosho (Lowe, Hulsey, Gilford, Emily Harrell) 1:58.81.
    300 hurdles — 4. Lowe 51.91.
The Wildcats are back in action at the Missouri State Relays at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Springfield, Mo.
