Tyra Moore scored two goals to lead Parkview to a 3-0 victory over Neosho in a girls varsity game on Thursday at JFK Stadium.
Wet turf and a stiff wind aided the Vikings’ first goal as Moore booted one into the net 3:21 into the contest to make it 1-0. The beneficiary of a deflection, Kyra Siler tapped in Parkview’s second goal 26:07 into the first half as the Lady Vikings led 2-0 at the half.
With less than six minutes to go in the contest, Moore struck again to cap the game and secure the victory.
Neosho played much better in the second half, according to Neosho coach Steve Schnackenberg.
“I thought we played really good in the second half again,” he said. “With the wind and the wet turf going against us the ball kind of stung us in the first half. It kind of cost us our first goal. I thought we came out and played a lot better in the second half and hung with them.”
The Lady Vikings out-shot Neosho 10-4 as Lady Wildcats keeper Matty Liedtke recorded six saves.
Neosho fell to 3-8-1 overall.
The Lady Wildcats won the B game over Parkview 3-0 in one half. Kelly Lopez scored twice for Neosho and Macy Smith added another to lead the offense. Allura Jones had two saves as she pitched the shutout in goal for the Lady Wildcats.
Neosho entertains Springfield Central at 5 p.m. Monday at Lions Field.
