  • An eight run first inning was all the firepower the Diamond Wildcats would need as they roughed up Wyandotte (Okla.) 12-4 on Friday at Diamond High School.
For good measure though, the Wildcats would add three runs in the fifth on back-to-back homers from Ryan Jinks and Zach Renfro. Jinks’ shot was a two-run blast, followed by Renfro’s solo shot to make it 11-4. The Wildcats scored once more in the sixth.
The win pushed Wildcats starter Jordan Divine to 5-0 overall on the mound. The righty went five innings and struck out six with one walk, while Jinks tossed the final two scoreless to close it out.
Jinks finished 2 for 4 with the homer, a double and three RBIs. Renfro also had two hits.
At 11-4 overall and riding a six-game winning streak, the Wildcats will look to add to that total on Monday when they take on McAuley at Wendell Redden Field at the Joplin Athletic Complex in Joplin, Mo., at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
