John Wayne "Red" Miller, 72, Stella, entered into rest on April 21, 2013, at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Jan. 4, 1941 in Goodman, to James Emanuel and Dorothy (Friend) Miller.
John was a lifelong area resident and was on the Joplin Fire Department for more than 20 years. He also worked on the Neosho Fire Department for four to five years.
John is survived by his two daughters, Joanna Compton, Stella, and Charlene Schow, Idaho Falls, Idaho; two brothers, Gary Miller and Dave Miller both of Neosho; five grandsons, Dalton, James, and Chance Compton, Nick and Jason Schow; and two great-granddaughters, Georgie and Karly Schow.
He was preceded in death by both parents; a sister; Ramona Fare; and a grandson, Samuel Schow.
The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories Neosho.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
