Springfield Central scored a goal in the first half and made it hold as the Lady Bulldogs topped Neosho 1-0 in a varsity tilt at Lions Field on Monday.
The game was a defensive battle from the start as Central held the Lady Wildcats to three shots on goal. The Lady Bulldogs, meanwhile, blasted seven shots, six of which were saved by Neosho keeper Matty Liedtke.
Neosho had several opportunites, especially in the first half when they lined up on four corner kicks, only to be denied by the Lady Bulldogs’ defense each time.
The Lady Wildcats’ shots came from Keileigh Thomlinson and Macy Smith.
Neosho (3-9-1) is at Branson today at 5 p.m.
