STELLA — The Village of Stella is gearing up for an annual fundraiser to benefit the Stella Historical Society.
The annual Stella Spring Fling, consisting of house and garden plants, craft sales, and gospel and bluegrass singing, will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on Ozark Street in Stella.
"We [had] been trying for several years to put brand new windows in the historical society and they got those put in," said Bill Beckett, co-organizer of the fundraiser, which has been going on for about five years now. "But by the time they got it all put in, and paid for the labor, the money was pretty much depleted. So we are trying to raise the money to reimburse their money so they can operate on."
There will be between four to five bands, including Max Brown, who will start the music event off at 10 a.m. The crafters will begin around 8 a.m., Beckett stated.
"We are hoping for good weather," he said.
Along with the music, there will also be a chance for people to get their gardens ready for planting.
"We have nurseries bringing houseplants and plants for gardens," said Beckett.
Booth spaces for the vendors are $10 each, which will go back to the historical society. There are still booth spaces available and to reserve a space or for more information, please contact Beckett at 628-3129.
Beckett also noted various other items will be raffled off. Those raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
Food will be onsite as well, and bake sales will be held.
