Robert O. Swift, 86, Neosho, died April 30, 2013, at his home in Neosho, following a lengthy illness.
Robert was born June 17, 1926, in Bloomfield, Iowa, and moved to the Neosho area in 1950 from Iowa. He worked as assistant plant superintendent and in sales for La-Z-Boy, retiring in the early 1980s.
Robert was a member of the First Christian Church in Neosho and had served as deacon and elder.
He married Vada Kinnamon on Jan. 14, 1944, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Rick Swift, Neosho, Randy Swift and wife, JoAnn, Neosho; four grandchildren, Collin Swift and wife, Stephanie, Neosho, Joshua Swift, Joplin, Elle Swift, Neosho and Tyler Swift and Vanessa Ellis, Springfield; and three great-grandchildren, Drake and Desirae Swift and Kellen Stockton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and a brother.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church, Neosho, Rev. Al Gritten will officiate. Interment will be in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Collin Swift, Joshua Swift, Tyler Swift, John Courtney, Doug Courtney, Larry Swift and Ron Swift.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday and the family will receive friends Saturday at the First Christian Church from 1 p.m. until service time.
