It was the luck of the draw, perhaps, that bit the East Newton Patriots on Tuesday as they picked a bad time to tangle with the Carl Junction Bulldogs.

It was one of those nights for the Bulldogs, where their offense was on a mission and firing on all cylinders as they scored often in a 17-7 victory in six innings.

The Patriots (8-8 overall) were led offensively by Wyatt Hurn with a hit, two RBIs, two walks and two runs scored. Sam Swartz had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Rocky Liveoak, who started on the mound for the Patriots, had a hit and scored a run. Dillon Bunch had a hit and an RBI, while Ryan Linton also had a hit.

East Newton will host Lamar at 4:30 p.m. today for Senior Night.
