The registration deadline is upcoming for a fundraiser to benefit Neosho Crosslines Ministry.
The ministry will be hosting a scrapbooking crop fundraiser on Saturday, June 1, at the Neosho United Methodist Christian Life Center, 1111 N. Business Highway 49, Neosho. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
However, the registration for this event will be Monday, May 20.
"The purpose is to raise some extra funds to go back into the ministry, to help support the distribution center, food pantry, and emergency shelter," said Renee Gillett, executive director of Crosslines. "This is the first time Neosho Crosslines has done a fundraiser of this type or size. We wanted to have an event that would be fun for everyone. I know there are many avid scrap bookers in the area who will have a great time if they choose to attend this event."
The event will include a breakfast and lunch, door prize drawings throughout the day, unlimited snacks and beverages all day and Scrappy C's onsite scrapbooking store.
"And eight hours of fun, fellowship, food and, of course scrapbooking," she added. "This event is very important to our ministry. Our goal is to raise money to help support many areas of the ministry. We want to be able to provide assistance to as many individuals and families as we can in our local community."
Registration is $35 and forms are available at the Crosslines Distribution Center or by calling Gillett at 389-2925.
It is not mandatory, but the ministry is asking for various items to be used in the distribution center. The items are: toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, deodorant, shampoo, toothbrushes, body wash, diapers (sizes 4, 5 and 6), pullups (any size), disposable razors and feminine products.
"Items we are asking participants to donate will go to supply needs at the emergency shelter and to hygiene kits that are distributed at the distribution center," Gillett said. "We would appreciate everyone contributing to these needs but it certainly is not mandatory."
