  • In dominant fashion, the Neosho seventh grade boys and girls track and field teams both brought home the championship at the Tri-County Conference Meet in Joplin on Thursday.

  • In dominant fashion, the Neosho seventh grade boys and girls track and field teams both brought home the championship at the Tri-County Conference Meet in Joplin on Thursday.
    The girls won first place behind four individual champions, seven second-place winners and three thirds.
    The boys, meanwhile, also cruised to first place behind three firsts, three seconds and three thirds.
    “Overall this has been the best group of kids I have ever coached in seventh grade track,” Neosho coach Josh Depoe said. “They worked hard all year and peaked at the right time. Could not be more proud of these kids.”
    Individual results for the Neosho girls were:
    75 meter hurdles — 2. Minnie Hathaway. 3. Lauren Gammons.
    100 dash — 2. Laken Schnackenberg.
    800 relay — 1. Ashley Talley, Allison Burr, Maddie Rea, Caitlyn Jordan.
    400 relay — 1. Emilee Anderson, Allison Burr, Ashley Talley, Schackenberg.
    400 dash — 2. Anderson.
    800 run — 3. Kaleigh Vaughn.
    200 dash — 2. Schnackenberg.
    1600 relay — 2. Jordan, Anderson, Gammons, Talley.
    Discus — 3. Makayla Hayes.
    High jump — 1. Jayla Wortman.
    Pole vault — 2. Jessica Van Lear.
    Triple jump — 1. Burr. 2. Anderson.

    100 dash — 1. Clint Winchester.
