  • Wilma Ilene (Hill) Ruhl was born on Sept. 12, 1921, in rural Fairview and departed this life on June 30, 2013, at the Freeman Neosho Hospital.

  • Wilma Ilene (Hill) Ruhl was born on Sept. 12, 1921, in rural Fairview and departed this life on June 30, 2013, at the Freeman Neosho Hospital.
     
    She was the daughter of Clovis L. Hill and Addie L. (Hollobaugh).
    Wilma attended Oshkosh rural school and graduated from Wheaton High School in May of 1940.  She went on to teach for two years at her home country school. 
    She married Clyde E. Ruhl on Oct. 6, 1944, at Bentonville, Ark. She spent her entire life in the Wheaton area with the exception of two years on the west coast, where they packed fruit in the San Joaquin Valley and a brief time in Kansas City, where they worked in the aircraft industry at Pratt and Whitney.
    Survivors include Dr. Max Ruhl and wife, Lynn, Longview, and Mrs. Marsha Velten and husband, Dave, Weyers Cave, Va.; as well as four grandchildren, Michelle Markum and husband, Collin, Jacksonville, Fla., Michael Ruhl, Longview, Jeremy Velten of the state of Virginia, and Dr. Justin Velten and wife, Laura; as well as one great-grandchild, Sadie Velten, Tyler, Texas. One brother, Kendall Hill, Sequim, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Barbara Hill, Fairview; and a host of nieces and nephews survive. 
    Those preceding her in death besides her mother, father and husband; are a daughter, Myra Lou; two brothers, Norman and Don; and one sister, Marilyn (McCullah) Buck.
    Wilma was a homemaker and loving wife and mother.  She was a faithful member of the Wheaton Church of Christ.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, in Wheaton Church of Christ, under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Denny Kruse will conduct the services. Burial will be in Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Rocky Comfort.
