  • Henry 'Sonny' L. Clouse, 74, Granby, died Friday, July 5, 2013, at his home in Granby, following a year of failing health.

  • Henry 'Sonny' L. Clouse, 74, Granby, died Friday, July 5, 2013, at his home in Granby, following a year of failing health.
    Henry was born May 18, 1939, in Stella, the son of Henry and Goldie (Carterman) Clouse. He entered the U.S. Army in 1957 and retired in 1979 serving 22 years, including service time in Korea; two deployments in Vietnam and several years in Germany. He also served on the Granby Police Force, 1983-1984. He loved the Colorado mountains where he resided for approximately 25 years.
    Sonny is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ruby Clouse, Granby; two loving children, Tracy Murphy and Dale Clouse, both of Colorado and lovingly helped to raise four stepchildren, Cassie (Jimmy) Baldwin, Darrin (Tonya) Ratliff, Granby; Tarra (George) Bedell, Neosho and Paul (Wendy) Ratliff, Arizona. He was Poppa to Colsie (Cooper) Searcy, Nevada; Cristy Murphy (Ryan Alverez, Colorado; Jeremy (Sherry) Baldwin and Cheradyn Baldwin (Brent Bush), Granby; Marissa (Luke) Applin, Colorado; Dylan Ratliff, Granby and Cherice Ratliff (Junior Nevarez) and Zachary Ratliff, Arizona; great-grandpoppa to Carter and Elaina Searcy, Kharmen Baldwin, Rylee Bush, Myah Alverez; two brothers, Danny (Sally) Bush, Granby, and Cy (Peggy) Clouse, Diamond; four sisters, Clarene (Richard) Crittenden, Okla.; Delores (Richard) Eutsler and Linda (Lloyd) Friend, Granby and Patty (Dan) Berkey, Duenweg, and two sisters-in-law, Betty Clouse and Sheila Clouse, Granby; and numerous nieces and nephews in the area.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Clouse; three brothers, Jack, Jerry and Harold Clouse; and three sisters, Ruth Schenck, Mary Mackler and Thelma Keeling. The body has been taken for cremation and memorial graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gibson Cemetery. Billy Martin will officiate.
    Service arrangements are under the directions of Clark Funeral Home, Granby.
