The Neosho 8-year-old softball all-stars have claimed a district championship after topping Seneca in a best of five series at the District Tournament at Morse Park in Neosho this week.

The Neosho 8-year-old softball all-stars have claimed a district championship after topping Seneca in a best of five series at the District Tournament at Morse Park in Neosho this week.

Neosho defeated Seneca by scores of 18-8, 18-7 and 14-3 in the five-game series.

Neosho was led by Lili Graue in Game 1 as she went 5-for-5 with a home run in the blowout victory. Teammate Kaitlyn Killion also went 5-for-5 while Mylee Skaggs went 4-for-4 at the dish. Riley Slegeby and Bailey Howard were named defensive MVPs.

In Game 2, Howard and Graue each went 4-for-4 to pace the offense while Killion was a perfect 3-for-3 at the dish. Skaggs and Killion both had superb defensive performances in the game.

In the title game Ashlyn Snyder and Howard both went 3-for-3 at the plate, with Snyder clubbing a double in the win. Graue and Emma Angel both paced the team on defense.
