Helen Irene Brown, 85, Granby, died July 15, 2013, at her home in Granby, following a short illness.
Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Granby, the daughter of Rodger and Marie (Burress) Grant. She was a lifelong area resident and worked as a seamstress at the Granby Garment Factory for many years and loved to crochet and garden.
Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Evert Franks; her second husband, Leo Brown; a son, Evert Gene Franks; and her parents. She is survived by a daughter, Maria Smith and husband, Larry, Sarcoxie; two stepdaughters, Lola Fosdick, Joplin and Patricia Ray, Amarillo, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Granby, Pastor Seldon Harris will officiate. Interment will follow in the Granby Memorial Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Calvin Goodnight, Dustin Smith, Keith Kirk, Scott Kirk, Todd Dunlop and Dennis Burge.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
