  • The Neosho R-5 School District has announced new student enrollment and open house dates for the upcoming school year.
    All new student enrollment will take place at the Neosho High School atrium, on the north end of the high school.
    New students can enroll between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, and Friday, Aug. 2, with a Spanish interpreter available from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    New student enrollment is also scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, and Tuesday, Aug. 6, with a Spanish interpreter available throughout the day.
    New students must bring proof of residency, birth certificate, immunization records, previous school information, including name and phone number, and Medicaid card and custodial papers if applicable. Bringing the student’s social security card is optional.
    Meanwhile, the first of the district’s open houses and high school schedule pick-up dates begin Tuesday, July 30. The following is a schedule of those dates.
    High school schedule pick-up (8:30 -11:30 a.m., 1-3 p.m.)
    Class of 2014 – Tuesday, July 30
    Class of 2015 – Wednesday, July 31
    Class of 2016 – Thursday, Aug. 1
    Class of 2017 – Friday, Aug. 2
    Junior high
    Thursday, Aug. 8 – 5:30 to 7 p.m.
    Middle school
    Aug. 11 – fifth grade, 1:30 to 4 p.m. (time divided by alphabet)
    Aug. 13 – sixth and seventh grades, 2 to 6 p.m. (schedule pick-up)
    South Elementary
    Aug. 12 – 6 to 7 p.m.
    Goodman Elementary
    Aug. 12 –  kindergarten, 5:30 p.m.
    Aug. 12 -  first –fourth grades, 6 to 7 p.m.
    George Washington Carver Elementary
    Aug. 12 –  kindergarten, 5:30 p.m.
    Aug. 12 -  first –fourth grades, 7 p.m.
    Central Elementary
    Aug. 12 – 6 to 7 p.m.
    Benton Elementary
    Aug. 8 – first grade, 6 p.m.
    Aug. 12 – kindergarten, 5:30 p.m., second grade, 6 p.m.
    Aug. 13 – fourth grade, 5:30 p.m.
    Aug. 15 – third grade, 6 p.m.
    Field Early Childhood Center
