The Mean Girls of FOX and radio have had educations, financial security, and all the benefits of living in America--so why are they so hostile and vicious?
Shakespeare's "Macbeth" opens with three witches on a heath. "By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes." And Macbeth steps on stage! How right their prognosticasions were as he, at his wife's urging, murders the king.
In the present time, four witches dominate the conservative commentators: Ann Coulter, Laura Ingram, Michelle Malkin, and Sarah Palin, a self proclalimed "pit-bull with lipstick." Their prognastications and opinions are often the topic of Fact Checkers and they fail the Truth Test. These women are vicious, malicious, malevolent.
Laura Ingram used to be witchy to the LBGT community, until her brother came out as Gay. When she faced the fact her brother had a loyal and supportive relationship with his partmer, she backtracked on spewing hatred at Gay people. But, she continues against the POTUS and liberals.
Michelle Malkin is another FOX personality, blogger, and columnist who lives in Colorado Springs, known for its ulta-conservatism. It speaks volumsn that even Geraldo Reviera dislikes Michelle.
Ann Coulter is another conservative "personality," and author. Her words reveal her better than I can:
"Perhaps, someday, blacks will win the right to be treated as volitional human beings. But not yet."
"It would be a much better country if women did not vote...in every presidential election since 1950---except Goldwater in 1964---the Republicans would have won if only the men had voted."
"I might be in favor of national health care if it requird all Democrats to geh their heads examined."
"I'm a Christian first, and a mean-spirited, bigoted conservative second, and don't you ever forget it."
i do not understand how "mean-spirited" and "Christian" can reside in the same person. However I certainly see Ann as "Mean spirited." I also see her as a racist, and I am not sniping. I'm reporting my conclusion based on her words and the American history that I have witnessed.
I well remember the March on Selma; the fire bombing that killed three little black girls in the 16th Street Birminghame Baptist Church; the fire hoses turned on James Meridith when he walked on the campus at the University of Mississippi; the white "mothers" screaming obscenties at little girls as they integrated the public schools in Alabama while George Wallace stood in the doorway to block them; the courage of Rosa Parks who would not give up her seat on a public bus; the "I Have a Dream" speech and the assassination of Martin Luther King. I read Black Like Me. I remember so well the pain of the black citizens, many of whom served in Viet Nam, and the shame I felt for those hateful, ignorant whiltes. They would accept people of color as contributing members of society with equal rights.
These four "witches" who claim to be Christians and Conservatives all are college graduates. All come from Middle Class families. All claim to be loyal, patriotic Americans. If they were patriots and Christians they would work to build up the US, not to tear down. They would support and promote for the greater good.
They would do well to heed the ancient advice of Aesop---"No act of kindness, however smll, is ever wasted"
