It has been a busy and successful summer for Neosho youth basketball players MacKenzie Robbins and Taigen Mitchell.

The duo spent the summer traveling across the region with their third grade summer basketball team, the Arkansas Mavericks, helping guide them to a top-five finish at a national tournament in Oklahoma.

Robbins and Mitchell helped make their mark at the MAYB National Tournament on the campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla., where the Mavericks took fifth place. Led by Robbins and Mitchell, the Mavericks went 4-0 in their pool before losing their first game in bracket play and closing with two wins en route to a fifth place finish.

The Mavericks went 6-1 on the weekend with their only loss coming at the hands of eventual tournament champion Team Tulsa.
