James Walter Reed, 66, Neosho, died Aug. 13, 2013, at his home in Neosho, following a lengthy illness.

James was born Dec. 6, 1946, in Pontiac, Mich., and lived most of his life in Neosho. He worked in the family business, Neblett Grocery.

James was an avid worker with the MADD organization and loved to garden, he was a very talented artist and worked at Crowder with disabled clients. James and Carolyn (McCully) were married on Nov. 15, 1976, at Miami, Okla., and she survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Misty Kucharczyk, Neosho; a brother, Michael Reed; two sisters, MaryAnn Reynolds, Hutto, Texas, and Susan Stanford, Buffalo, Mo.; and a grandson, Dalton Bridges.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Reed; his mother, Betty Neblett Reed; and two brothers, Robert Lee Reed and John William Reed.

The body has been taken for cremation and memorial visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Friday, at the Clark Funeral Home.
