Fredrick Chester Hoyt, 75, Granby, died Aug. 13, 2013, at his home following a short illness.
Fredrick was born March 23, 1938, in Rocky Comfort, the son of Sidney and Ruby (Horton) Hoyt. He served in the U. S. Army and owned and operated an excavating equipment company. He returned to the area eight years ago from Idaho and was a member of the Christian Church of Granby.
He married Barbara (Apple) Hoyt in 1961 at Elko, Nev., and she survives.
Additional survivors include children, Ty Hoyt, Rupert, Idaho; Lori Diehl and husband, Curtis, Flinton, Penn.; Yancey Hoyt and wife, Debra, Neosho, and Raelene Wassmuth, Pocatello, Idaho; one brother, Tim Hoyt, Minidoka, Idaho; a sister, Opal Hennington, Springdale, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Fredrick was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Darrell Hoyt; a brother, Sidney Hoyt; two sisters, Evelyn Stanley and Letha Patzer; and a grandson, Casey Hoyt.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday Aug. 23, at Granby Christian Church, Granby. Interment of cremains will be in the Union Cemetery, Stella.
Cremation arrangements are under the directions of Clark Funeral Home, Granby.
