Dorothy Annabell Martin, 87, Granby, died Aug. 21, 2013, at her home, following a short illness.
Dorothy was born March 8, 1926, in Christopher Community in Newton County, the daughter of William J. and Pearl (Tanner) Brust and was a lifelong area resident. She worked as a seamstress at Granby Garment Factory and at La-Z-Boy and retired from La-Z-Boy after 18 years. She loved to sew, cook and bake; spending time with family and going to ball games.
Dorothy was a member of the Granby Miracle Church.
She and Charles Martin were united in marriage in September, 1942 and he preceded her in death in October, 1976.
Dorothy is survived by three children, Billy Martin and wife, Jane, Granby; Bobby Martin and wife, Kathy, Neosho and Betty Hawkins and husband, Ira, Granby; one brother, Arthur Wayne Brust, Granby; one sister, Wynona Lewis, Granby and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Doyle Brust.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Granby, her son, Rev. Billy Martin and son-in-law, Rev. Ira Hawkins will officiate.
Interment will be in the Hazel Green Cemetery, Boulder City, Mo. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby and the family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m.
