Dr. William Freddy Johns, 86, Neosho, died July 23, 2013, at his home in Neosho.
Dr. Johns was born Aug. 23, 1926, in Temporary, Ark., and served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He moved to Neosho in 1957, and had a private practice in optometry, retiring in 1989.
Dr. Johns was preceded in death by his wife, Verneal, his second wife, Jean, his third wife, Violet; and his daughter, Janis Turley.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Rachel Curtis and husband, Frankie Carter; grandson, Seth Bowers; great-granddaughter, Danielle Curtis; and his brother, Basil Johns.
He was very well loved and will be greatly missed.
The body has been taken for cremation and private family services will be held.
Service arrangements are under the directions of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
