The Neosho Lady Wildcats had a tough draw in their season opener as they hosted Springdale Har-Ber in a varsity volleyball match at Neosho High School.

After beginning the night strong in the first game, Neosho fell victim to the talented and veteran opponents as Har-Ber stormed back for a 25-11 victory. Har-Ber then went on to win the final two matches 25-16, 25-14 in the best-of-five format.

Kayla Bakker led Har-Ber with seven kills while Kim Huff added three blocks, Elizabeth Williams 11 assists and Tiffani Ray three aces.

Morgan Rogers paced Neosho with eight kills and a block while Chelsy Henry added two aces and a block, Kennedy Lyerla had five assists and Sam Duke finished with three digs.

Neosho (0-1) travels to Aurora at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
