  • The Diamond Lady Wildcats cruised to victory in front of a home crowd in the varsity girls’ volleyball regular season opener at Diamond High School on Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats bested McAuley Catholic 25-15, 25-19.

  • The Diamond Lady Wildcats cruised to victory in front of a home crowd in the varsity girls’ volleyball regular season opener at Diamond High School on Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats bested McAuley Catholic 25-15, 25-19.
    Tessa Huffman helped lead the Lady Wildcats with seven kills, while teammate Kalyn Martin followed with six digs and a block. Asia Mahan led the squad with four aces and 14 assists. Alyssa Dieckhoff was the digs leader with nine. Kelsi Eden tied Martin with one block.
    Miranda Green led the Lady Warriors with five kills, while Kathryn Wiseman followed with two blocks, Katie Carr had seven digs, Kate Miester added 12 assists and Emily Hughley recorded one ace.
    The Lady Wildcats also won the B game 25-17, 25-16.
    Diamond (1-0) goes to Wheaton for a 6 p.m. match Thursday.
