Plans are underway for the second annual Tassel Golf Tournament, a fundraiser for the Neosho High School 2014 Project Graduation.

The tournament will be Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Neosho Municipal Golf Course. It begins at 8:30 a.m. and is a four-person scramble, but they will take teams of two and pair them up. Cost is $200 per team of four.

“The main purpose of the event is to raise funds for our Project Graduation event,” said Jane Massey, 2014 fundraising chairperson. “Project Graduation is a celebration event for the 2014 graduating class of Neosho High School. It is an evening that is full of activities such as inflatables, bingo, swimming, scuba diving, prizes, lots of food, and lots of fun, but in an alcohol free and safe environment.”

The money raised from this golf tournament will go back to purchasing prizes, rental of the inflatables, food and other games for Project Graduation.

The golf fundraiser is their first fundraiser for the year. Other fundraisers planned include:
• Oct. 5, mum sale at the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce Fall Festival, set for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the square at the festival and at the corner of Harmony Street and the Neosho Boulevard at Terry Telford Shelter Insurance;

• McAlister's Night at McAlister's Deli in Joplin, to be 5 to 9 p.m. Oct 8. All tips and 10 percent of sales will go back to Project Graduation;

• Nov. 21 is Mazzio's Night, Neosho. Fliers are available from any senior. Twenty percent of all sales will come back to Project Graduation.
