  • The Neosho softball team rebounded from an 8-1 loss at Joplin on Wednesday by hammering Branson 6-2 in a Central Ozark Conference game on Thursday.
The Lady Wildcats (4-7, 2-1 COC) benefited from a big inning on Thursday, scoring four runs in the top of the fifth inning en route to the win. Danielle Bingham had an RBI double to get the ball rolling for Neosho in the fifth. Bailey Spence followed her and laced an RBI single to left to blow it open, and the Lady Wildcats never looked back.
Bingham led Neosho’s eight hit attack by going 2 for 3 with the double and RBI. Spence, Kylie Bach, Lindsay Vance, Grace Enlow and Cassie Dickens all had one hit each. Bach, Spence and Enlow each had an RBI while Enlow also added a double.
Neosho won the B game 13-4.
The script was flipped on Wednesday as Joplin used a four-run fifth to down Neosho.
The Lady Wildcats only mustered two hits in the game — one apiece by Spence and Belcher. Spence drove in Neosho’s lone run in the top of the first inning and Belcher beat out an infield single in the sixth.
Ashlie Green had three hits, a double and two RBIs to lead the Lady Eagles, while Makenzie Goswick, Jessica Greninger and Kinsley Stewart finished with two hits apiece.
    Joplin B defeated Neosho 1-0.
The Lady Wildcats entertain Webb City at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
