2012 Heart and Sole Walk
2012 Heart and Sole Walk
By NEMO Heart Health
Sept. 13, 2013 6:59 p.m.

Tomorrow, Saturday September 14th, NEMO Heart Health’s 2nd Annual Heart and Sole walk will take place.  This is a non-competitive, just get out and get moving type of event.  The weather will be great, sunny and in the 70s.  It’s being held at Spainhower Field, so if you aren’t going to the home football game tonight – another great reason to come out and see all the awesome improvements that have been made.  Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. and the walk will begin at 9:00 a.m.  The event will last until noon.  We also have a very special guest to kick start the festivities!

Also, we will have a lot of great booths there supplying the community with a TON of cool information – from how to figure out the NuVal system at the grocery store to AED demonstrations and how to pack healthy lunches for your kids.  There will be some kid activities as well – so bring the whole family!

This is just the start of opportunities to come out and walk with us!  Starting Monday September 16th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. NEMO Heart Health will be starting a walking club.  This will take place every Monday at the same time at Northeast Regional’s Health and Fitness Center (at the south end of Kirksville on HWY 63).  NEMO Heart Health and  Northeast Regional are providing this to the community at no charge!  We just want you to come out and walk with us!

Remember just by walking 30 mins a day,  you can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, improve your blood pressure and lower the risk of obesity.  So lace up those sneakers – we will see you on the track!
