  • Wilburn J. Coberley, 95, Neosho, formerly of Rocky Comfort, died Sept. 17, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital, following an extended illness.

  • Wilburn J. Coberley, 95, Neosho, formerly of Rocky Comfort, died Sept. 17, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital, following an extended illness.
    Wilburn was born March 23, 1918, in Green City, Sullivan County, Mo., and had lived in Kansas and Colorado, prior to returning to the area in 1949. He served in the U. S. Army and had worked as a tool and die maker, having worked at Vickers, Rocketdyne, Teledyne and retiring from Boeing. He was a member of the American Legion, enjoyed fishing and farming and was a member of the Non-Denominational Church.
    Wilburn married Lova Whaley on May 4, 1941, in Towner, Colo., and she survives.
    Also surviving are three sons, Gary Coberley, Springdale, Ark., Dale Coberley and wife, Laura, Cedarville, Ark., and Robert Coberley and wife, Andrea, Westland, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, Robin Mahaffe, Sabra Coberley, Leah Kinnison, Michael Coberley, Christopher Coberley and wife, Shawna, Daela Ford, Dusty Weems, Audrey Gresham, Zach Coberley, Cheyenne Wright, Sierra Lamb and Dylan Chappman; and numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Domenic Enrietta will officiate. Interment will be in the Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery and family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Friday.
