Geraldine L. Spiva, 92, Neosho, died Sept. 18, 2013, at Medicalodge in Neosho following an illness.

Geraldine was born April 18, 1921, in Stella, the daughter of Oran and Mary (Clanton) Dickens. She was a lifelong area resident, a homemaker and a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Geraldine and William W. ‘Bill’ Spiva were married on Oct. 10, 1939, in Stella, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 2003.

She is survived by one son, Bill Spiva and wife, Linda, Neosho; two daughters, Jeannine Lenger and husband, Steve, Joplin and Sally Coddington and husband, Bill, Hartford, Conn.; one sisters, Nancy Bowman, Joplin; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Dallas and Jack Dickens; and a sister, Dorothy Flaxbeard.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Steve Lenger will officiate. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery and family will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday, prior to the funeral services. The casket will be closed at all times.
