  • For the second game in a row, the Neosho softball team had its hands full with one of the best softball teams in the Central Ozark Conference when it hosted the Ozark Lady Tigers on Thursday at the Neosho Softball Field.
In the end Ozark, backed by standout pitcher Brittany Nimmo, was too much for the Lady Wildcats, winning 14-3 in five innings.
Nimmo, a University of Georgia commit, struck out eight and allowed only one hit through three innings on the mound while also contributing a hit and scoring two runs at the plate.
The Lady Tigers gave Nimmo all the help she would need in the early going, as they plated seven runs in the first inning and four more in the second to take an 11-0 lead. Hailee Vigneaux finished 3 for 4 with a double and triple.
Neosho plated its first run in the bottom of the third and added two more in the fourth.
Bailey Spence led the Lady Wildcats at the plate with two hits, while Kylee Belcher and Lindsay Vance had one each.
The Lady Wildcats fell to 4-9. They’ll travel to Adair, Okla., today for the Adair Tournament where they’ll play Sarcoxie at 1:30 p.m.
Ozark won the B game 15-0 in three innings.
