The Neosho junior high cross country teams brought home six medalists from the 3rd annual Mustang Cross Country Invitational on Thursday at Elk River Golf Course in Noel.
The seventh grade girls had the best showing for the Wildcats, as they brought home second place as a team and finished with three individual medalists. Jade Toland led the team as she medaled with an 11th place finish with a run of 11:32. Catherine Crowe also medaled with a 12th place time of 11:42 and Katelyn Marcoux medaled in 15th with an 11:54 run. Rachel Nelson took 17th in 11:56 and Casey Russ finished 18th in 11:57 for Neosho.
The seventh grade boys took fifth, led by Carson Funk in 16th with a time of 10:23. He was followed by: 24, Andrew Burris 10:48; 31, Art Vernon 11:17; 38, Gavin Fry 11:38; 39, Ben Massey 39, 11:37.
The eighth grade girls took fifth as Matty Popanz medaled in 11th place with a time of 11:24, followed by: 16, Leah Ewing 11:46; 24, Fallon Laney 12:16; 26, Heather Bruce 12:19.
The eighth grade boys took fourth as both Sam Townsend and Jared Scribner brought home medals. Townsend took seventh place in 9:11, while Scribner finished 10th in 9:26. Nate Williams grabbed 31st for the Wildcats in 11:17.
Neosho is back in action Saturday at East Newton at 9:30 a.m.
