In eighth grade action Neosho Gold fell to Carthage 20-8.

Gavin Kelley rushed nine times for 29 yards, while Adrian Hitchcock had six carries for 27. Brady Wise scored the Wildcats’ only touchdown on a three-yard scamper and finished with four yards while Jarvin Funk had three on two carries.

Kelley completed one pass to Hitchcock for two yards, while in the return game Funk had 15 yards, Kelley added 10, Kaleb Moreland had five and Brady Wise had three.

Taylor Trejo led Neosho’s defense with seven tackles, while Hank Selig, Hitchcock, Kelley and Haden Wood had four stops apiece. R.J. Davis and Avery Aragon finished with three tackles, Wise had two and Funk, Lucas Kibler and Dalton Martin had a tackle each.

Neosho Black lost to Carthage 24-6. The lone score for the Wildcats came on a big pass play when quarterback Dalton Flory hit Trejo on a 22-yard strike. Flory finished with three completions for 61 yards — 52 of which when to Trejo as the duo also hooked up on a 30-yard grab. Wise completed one pass to Theo Morrison for 19 yards, while Davon Willis had a catch for six yards and Kaleb Larson had one for three.

Wise led the Wildcats with 10-yards rushing, while Trejo added nine, Funk and Larson eight and Willis six.

Robert Davis, Hayden Wood, Tony Buck, Flory and Larson had three tackles each, while Morrison, Garrett Burghart, Brent Olsen, Nathan Easley, Trejo, Westin Marcoux and Dalton Martin had a stop each.

The seventh grade Gold team defeated Carthage 26-6. Drew Osborn led the Wildcats with seven rushing yards and 44 pass yards in the contest, while Martinez led the team with 32 yards rushing. McKay Harris scored Neosho’s only touchdown on a three-yard run and he finished with nine yards on three totes. Richardson and Braxton Barnes had eight yards rushing, while Dylan Jordan finished with five and Cade Lyerla added two.

Barnes hooked up with Brok Logan on a 13-yard pass, while Mason Ray caught two balls for 30 yards, Jordan had two for nine and Harris had one for six.

Barnes had one return for 29 yards, Lyerla added another for 17 and Richardson had one for four.

Colton Mouse led Neosho with 71/2 tackles, while Barnes added 61/2, Jordan six, Lyerla three, Sean Moran and Trevon Letts 21/2, Harris and Logan two, Ethanuel Springer 11/2, Ethan White, Richardson and Connor McGehee one and Ryan Slade had half a tackle.

Neosho seventh grade Black turned in the lone win behind a huge day from Gavin Colson, who rushed for a whopping 128 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries. Colston had touchdown runs of 49, 34 and three in the win, and added a three-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Carson Craig.

Caden Green followed Colston with 15 yards on the ground and Craig added 11. Craig passed for 22 yards, while Letts had one catch for 20 yards and Colson had two grabs for seven.

Letts added a 48-yard kick return for a touchdown, while Colson had a return for 13 yards, Connor Cathers had a return for seven and Green added one for five yards.

Donnie Fox led the Wildcats with 10 tackles, including a return for a touchdown, while McGehee added 71/2 tackles, Alec Rothman five, Colston 31/2, Rasmussen three, Lakin House and Cathers two, Travis Coe 11/2 and Braxton Sterner, Green, Letts, Wyatt Whisenhunt, Mitchell Howard, Blake Norris, Landon Ward and Daniel Carterman had one each.
