  • Hearings set in area court cases

  • Another court proceeding has been set for a Quapaw, Okla., man facing felony charges of drug possession and assault on a law enforcement officer.
    Shawn Moore, 51, is slated to be back in court on Dec. 2 for a pre-trial conference before Presiding Judge Timothy Perigo, it was determined during a court appearance Monday.
    Moore faces charges in connection with an Aug. 28 raid at 3369 Greenwood in Joplin. Deputies serving a search warrant there seized a large quantity of methamphetamine at the residence. Six people were originally arrested.
    Moore is represented by Kellie Lyn Duckering, assistant public defender.

    A pre-trial conference has been slated for a Neosho man facing a felony sexual abuse charge.
    Robert A. Herrin, 34, is scheduled to appear before Newton County Division II Associate Circuit Court Judge Greg Stremel at 10 a.m. Oct. 30.
    Herrin is charged with forcible rape, an unclassified felony offense, and second-degree statutory rape, a Class C felony. He’s accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl at his residence in late May. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

    A Wentworth man facing numerous charges of receiving stolen property will be back in court Oct. 23.
    Garret B. Falls, 43, is slated to appear before Newton County Division II Associate Circuit Court Judge Greg Stremel for a pre-trial conference.
    Falls was charged Aug. 14 after authorities serving a search warrant at his residence due to unpaid child support noticed several stolen items. Six flatbed trailers, a drag race car, a boxed trailer, a backhoe, two trucks, three motorcycles, several stolen firearms, welders and chainsaws were seized, authorities said.
